DFR-01 is a flame retardant with phosphorus and nitrogen as flame-retardant elements, containing an acid source, a gas source, and a carbon source. It exerts its flame-retardant effect through the mechanisms of char formation and expansion. For polyolefins and glass fiber-reinforced polyolefins, the flame retardancy can reach UL 94 V-0 (1.5mm). At the same time, it passes the GWIT 750℃ and GWFI 960℃ glow wire tests, and complies with the restrictions of Directive 2002/95/EC “Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment”.

Processing notes


(1) The thermal decomposition temperature of the product in nitrogen is 280℃. The processing temperature can be adjusted according to specific conditions to enhance dispersion and improve plasticization. A certain degree of vacuum must be maintained during the twin-screw extrusion process, and several layers of sieves can be added during the extrusion process.

(2) Substances that inhibit the flame retardant efficiency: including but not limited to Cl--containing color powders such as phthalocyanine green, which will cause the flame retardant to fail; the use of pigments such as carbon black will reduce the flame retardancy, and the addition amount of the flame retardant needs to be appropriately increased.

(3) The product is acidic. Please use a processing machine with acid resistance during processing.
